Suzuki's sensational 2011 Swift has swept past the rest of the field to claim the light car Gold Star award from prestigious motoring magazine, Wheels. The Swift represents the best value car in its class according to Wheels.
"Sipping fuel like a featherweight, clutching on to its value credentials with grim determination and offered at a competitive entry price, Suzuki's mainstay model is an impressive combination of five door hatch practicality, good build quality and a generous standard equipment list." Wheels said.
The magazine continued: "And it's not all about the bottom-line. Accurate steering, well tuned suspension and a willing 1.4 litre petrol make it an engaging drive as well." The awards considered factors including the purchase price, warranty terms, service intervals, fuel use, insurance premiums and one of the most often over-looked purchasing considerations, the model's retained value.
Suzuki Auto Co General Manager Adam Le Fevre said: " Suzuki owners know that the brand traditionally has offered a far superior edge in terms of retaining value. It also offers outstanding durability resulting in Suzuki's brilliant understanding of compact car design."
"It's great that Wheels magazine has made part of the criteria because it is a key feature in addition to other factors which helped the Swift secure 63 Car of the Year titles around the world."
