New Swift Sport is almost here

The New Swift Sport has almost reached our shores, so we thought it might be time to keep you up to date with any new information on the exciting new model announced to be due here in early 2012.

The new look Swift Sport packs a more powerful punch with a 1.6-litre-four-cylinder engine, with increased power to weight ratio, developed exclusively for the Swift Sport. Producing 100kW of power and 160Nm of torque, and a fuel economy of only 6.5 litres of fuel used per 100 kilometres, this 1100 kilogram lightweight vehicle is impressive.

Hailed as one of the most visually exciting designs to come out of the Suzuki's design studios, the more aggressive exterior and ground hugging form gives a sense of stability and tension and a big front grille that evokes a sporty performance feel. Its cabin promotes sportiness with a high quality look and feel design features, that heighten excitement about the driving experience.

The engine is mated to a specially developed six-speed manual transmission, resulting in performance that's both exciting and environmentally responsible. The new Swift Sport offers superior cornering stability and brisker, more responsive handling thanks to struts with internal rebound springs and an exclusive rear-suspension design.

High levels of safety are assured by features such as a slight, stiff, impact absorbing body, standard 7 airbags (including a drivers knee airbag), and ESP (Electronic Stability program).

Technological features include iPod connectivity, Bluetooth connectivity, 6 speaker stereo system and a keyless push button start.

Additional features include stainless steel foot pedals, steering wheel audio controls, dual exhaust pipes, 17 inch aluminium alloy wheels and sporty upholstery.

The model comes in both 6 speed manual transmission or the newly introduced element to this model, CVT automatic transmission.
