Alto wins again
Last week Suzuki Alto claimed top spots from both NRMA and RACQ as the cheapest car to own and operate.
But the Alto isn't just a winner in the eyes of motoring authorities, owners are also impressed by its economy.
Suzuki Owner Ian Best purchased his manual Alto in 2010 and couldn't be happier with its low fuel consumption.
"I recently drove my 2010 Alto from Atherton to Cooktown and return - a total of 600km exactly and consumption was 3.23L/100km," Mr Best said.
"I always obtain 4L/100km under everyday conditions; a mix of city/country driving.
"It was just interesting to see what the car could really achieve. Better economy than a hybrid at about a third of the price.
"The car was purchased new in 2010 from Trinity Suzuki and I couldn't be happier with the car or the dealer and their service," Mr Best said.
With impressively low running costs, the Alto easily outshines its competitors including the Holden Barina Spark, Hyundai i20, Kia Rio, Nissan Micra, Toyota Yaris and Mitsubishi i-MiEV.
