The SUZUKI World Rally Team is an exciting new challenger in the World Rally Championship, the biggest and best rally series in the world. SUZUKI SPORT, an affiliated company of the SUZUKI Motor Corporation, has undertaken the development of the SX4WRC. SUZUKI SPORT has a factory manufacturing the SX4WRC and takes the leading role in the field whilst on events. The Japan-based SUZUKI World Rally Team has also established SUZUKI SPORT FRANCE near Paris as a base for its European activities. The SUZUKI World Rally Team works closely alongside the SUZUKI Motor Corporation to achieve success in the global market.

Although this is a brand new team, it already has many motorsport experts in key positions. Nobuhiro 'Monster' Tajima, the team principal, is also well-known as a driver. He set a world record at the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb in 2007. He has been responsible for SUZUKI's various international rally activities since 1986, leading up to the challenge of the WRC. Yutaka Awazuhara, the team director is also well-known in Japan as a talented driver. Shusuke Inagaki is technical manager, making full use of his expertise built up over 30 years of rally car engineering.
